Spring-Ford School Board Appoints 9th Grade Principal
ROYERSFORD PA – Dr. Kelly Di Pietro-Edwards, who most recently served as high school assistant principal at the Twin Valley School District in Elverson, was appointed Monday (June 27, 2022) by the Spring-Ford Area School District board as its new 9th grade principal. She succeeds Dr. Theresa M. Weidenbaugh, who retired.
Under the district’s Act 93 Administrators Plan, her annual compensation is set at $146,500, and will be prorated from her start date. Just when she will begin is to be determined, the administration indicated.
Di Pietro-Edwards began her career in education as a Spanish teacher at the Twin Valley. During the next 10 years she taught Spanish to students in grades 5-8, developed curriculum for the World Language Department, and worked as part of the building leadership team.
After earning her principal certification in 2016, Di Pietro-Edwards transitioned into six years of administration within Twin Valley. She has led curriculum for the district as the secondary curriculum liaison, served on several community organization boards, and worked as part of a Berks County-wide initiative to increase college and career readiness skills for students.
Di Pietro-Edwards earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Penn State University, her teaching certification from Kutztown University, her master’s degree in Hispanic studies from Villanova University, and her master’s in Educational Leadership and principal certification from Wilkes University.
She earned her doctorate in educational leadership and management from Drexel University in 2021.
