‘Blue Jam Junction’ Band to Perform in Schwenksville Park

SCHWENKSVILLE PA – “We are ready to rock!,” Schwenksville Borough Manager Dan DeMeno declared, as he announced the municipality’s coming second performance in its summer concert series. It features Joe Tassoni’s “Blue Jam Junction” band, and is scheduled for July 20 (2022; Wednesday) from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the borough’s Meadow Park, 300 Main St., behind the municipal building.

The park is nestled between the Perkiomen Trail and Perkiomen Creek. Those attending the free family- and pet-friendly concert are recommended to bring along a chair or blanket on which to sit; none are provided. Also Schwenksville Boy Scout Troop 105 will sell food at the concert, so guests are encouraged to “bring your appetite and show your support.”

As for the concert, “brace yourself for the exciting and interesting interpretations of rock, reggae, jam, country and bluegrass classics, as well as modern material, by this all-star line-up of talented Philadelphia area musicians,” DeMeno wrote in the Friday (July 1) e-mailed borough newsletter.

“Joe Tassoni, of Hazy Cosmic Jive, leads this ensemble on the double & electric bass. Andrew Meehan, lead guitarist of Catullus, lends his shredding talents on the banjo and the mandolin. Lou Monaco, lead guitarist of Montoj, will be laying down electric guitar. Mike Caroto, of Dead Friends, will be anchoring the acoustic rhythm and lead. Last but not least, Craig Edgerton, of The Dirty Dance Band, will be holding down the percussion and trombone,” he continued.

“These talented fellas take turns singing their favorite tunes and guarantee a foot-stomping good time!”

The borough’s first concert was scheduled for June 15 with “That Band.” The third and last is on the calendar for Aug. 17 with “River Dawgs.” Both also were set for Meadow Park, and also are free.
