Fireworks End Packed Day at Upper Perkiomen Hometown 4th

EAST GREENVILLE PA – The Upper Perkiomen “Hometown 4th of July Celebration,” sponsored by the Upper Perkiomen Rotary Club, will run Monday (July 4, 2022) from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at New Goshenhoppen Park, 618 3rd St., and offer a day filled with activities culminating with fireworks scheduled to start at about 9 p.m. Donations will be accepted for parking.

Start your morning at 8 with breakfast sandwiches, donuts, coffee, water, and soda being sold by Rotary members at their food stand. That will be followed at 9 a.m. by the annual Firemen’s Water Battles, involving several area fire companies and their volunteers is contests of skill using hoses and other tools.

  • A pet contest with Logan’s Heroes Animal Rescue begins at 10 a.m., featuring prizes for winners of three categories.
  • An Independence Cruise-In for display-worthy cars, trucks, and motorbikes begins at noon with the Poor Bastards Car club. Prizes will be awarded for first-, second-, and third-place finishes as well as Best of Show and a Rotarian pick.
  • A bike-decorating contest with Bike & Sol gets under way at 12:30 for children ages 12 and younger. They should bring their already-decorated bicycles to the park for judging.

At the Rotary food stand, funnel cakes and Hometown Creamery-brand ice cream will be sold from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and also from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. The Hawg House Food Truck will sell its food and beverage items during the same periods. Other local vendors’ displays will greet visitors throughout the day, and particularly at the car show.

Featured musicians “The Red Hill Band” will perform from 7-8:55 p.m., and at about 9 p.m. the Rotary is set to present its fireworks display by Celebration Fireworks.
