PHOENIXVILLE PA – Gateway Pharmacy, a Good Neighbor-brand pharmacy and health retail fixture in the borough since the 1950s, was named its “2022 Pharmacy of the Year” award winner Friday (July 22, 2022) during Good Neighbor’s three-day conference in Orlando FL.

Family-owned and independently operated Gateway was touted by its customers as a “one stop shop” for all medical needs,” and proclaimed it “a beloved cornerstone in the Phoenixville community,” the company said. It emerged as a finalist from a field of more than 4,800 nominations representing nearly 800 pharmacies across the country. Other finalists included pharmacies in Clovis NM and Laguna Beach CA.

During the conference and trade show, Good Neighbor observed its 40th anniversary with nearly 5,000 independent pharmacy owners and advocates. It gave pharmacists access to more than 20 live and on-demand continuing education sessions and certification programs, networking events in the exhibition hall, and opportunities to investigate buying.

It also unveiled a new scholarship program in partnership with the AmerisourceBergen Foundation, the non-profit charitable giving arm of AmerisourceBergen, to support aspiring pharmacists attending pharmacy school at a historically Black college or university. Scholarship award winners will receive $100,000 toward their pharmacy degree.
