Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct Alleged at Casino

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – A South Eastern PA man was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct; a Phoenixville man is being investigated for drug possession; a Norristown patron claimed his watch was stolen; and three individuals were cited for simple trespass, all at the Valley Forge Casino Resort, 1160 First Ave., according to state police reports distributed Monday (July 25, 2022).

Cited for drunkenness

A 55-year-old South Eastern PA man was charged charged July 20 (Wednesday) at 6:30 p.m. by troopers from the Troop K Barracks in Skippack, on duty at the casino on behalf of the state Bureau of Gaming Enforcement, with public drunkenness and similar misconduct, and disorderly conduct by engaging in fighting.

Troopers alleged the man appeared “manifestly under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance,” to the degree that he could have endangered himself, others, or property “in his vicinity.” They also alleged he intended, or “recklessly created” a risk, “to cause substantial harm” by engaging in fighting or threatening. The potential victim or victims were not identified.

Both citations were filed in a local magisterial district court, they added.

Investigated for drug possession

Casino security personnel contacted state police July 17 (Sunday) at 2:22 a.m. upon discovering drugs on the casino grounds, troopers reported. They used video surveillance to “back-track” within the area, which allegedly “revealed the actor who dropped the drugs.” Their report indicates the suspect is a 21-year-old Phoenixville man.

Troopers have labeled the nature of the incident as “drug possession,” and said they are continuing their investigation.

Watch theft claimed

An 82-year-old Norristown man, who apparently went to the casino wearing a Rolex-brand DateJust gold watch valued at $12,000, reported July 18 (Monday) that it had been stolen sometime during that day. Details of the alleged theft were not available in the report.

Troopers asked anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them at the casino.

Cited for simple trespass

Three individuals, in separate and unrelated incidents that occurred at various times between July 20 (Wednesday) and July 23 (Saturday) were cited for simple trespass on the casino floor. All male, they were reported as residents of Southeastern PA, Philadelphia, and Douglassville.

One citation was attributed to a previous eviction, one was the result of a self-exclusion order, and no reason was offered in the report of the third. All were filed in a local magisterial district court.
