Resurfacing Restricts Local Highways Next Week

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Four state-owned highways in western Montgomery County are among dozens covering more than 200 miles of roads across the five-county Southeast Pennsylvania region that will be restricted this week for repair and resurface operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.

Work schedules and locations are:

In Montgomery County

  • A lane closure is scheduled Sunday through Thursday (Aug. 7-11, 2022) overnights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning on Little Road between Route 29 and Township Line Road, and on Township Line Road between Little and Little and Snyder roads through Upper Frederick, Lower Frederick, and New Hanover townships, for milling and paving operations;
  • A lane closure is scheduled Sunday through Friday (Aug. 7-12) overnights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, on Route 73 between the Berks County line and Colonial Road in Upper Frederick, New Hanover, and Douglass townships, for milling and paving operations;
  • A lane closure is scheduled Monday through Friday (Aug. 8-12) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Route 73 between the Berks County line and Colonial Road in Upper Frederick, New Hanover, and Douglass townships, for sawing and sealing operations; and
  • A lane closure is scheduled Wednesday through Friday (Aug. 10-12) overnights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning on Congo Road between the Douglass Township line and Kutztown Road in Upper Hanover Township, for milling and paving operations.;

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas, because PennDOT said slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather. PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving them with new asphalt to seal the roadways and give travelers with a smoother riding surface.
