Troopers Make Arrest in ‘Domestic Violence’ Incident

LANCASTER PA – A “domestic violence incident” that involved a Pottstown couple in a recreational vehicle required the attention of Pennsylvania State Police from the Troop J Barracks in Lancaster, they said in a report released Saturday (Aug. 6, 2022). Their investigation resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old Pottstown area man on several charges.

Troopers said they were called July 24 (Sunday) at 11 p.m. to an East Maple Grove Road site in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, where the 2010-model traveling home apparently was located. During their investigation troopers alleged an assault, which caused bodily injury but did not involve a weapon, had occurred against a 36-year-old Pottstown area woman.

There was no mention of the extent of the woman’s injuries, or whether she required medical attention.

State police arrested the man and charged him with strangulation to the throat or neck, simple assault, and harassment, records indicated. He appeared before a magisterial district justice, and later was jailed in the Lancaster County Prison after failing to post a cash bail set at $25,000.
