State Grant Awarded to Phoenixville Senior Center
PHOENIXVILLE PA – Heating and air conditioning electrical improvements, proposed to allow the Phoenixville Area Senior Center to make better use of the upstairs portion of its building at 153 Church St., have been awarded a $125,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, 157th state Rep. Melissa Shusterman said Thursday (Aug. 11, 2022).
Department funding will pay for renovation and engineering costs associated with the project. The center, founded in 1978, offers programs and activities for residents age 55 and older in portions of Chester and Montgomery counties.
Receipt of the grant “means the center will have more space to provide additional services. I’m glad to see our tax dollars invested in a community center helping seniors stay healthy, active and connected,” Shusterman said.
