Crime Stoppers Offering Reward in Trappe Theft

TRAPPE PA – You may be able to help nab a suspect (at top) who allegedly broke into the Liberty gas station and convenience store on West Main Street in Trappe. At least, that’s what Pennsylvania State Police representatives hope. If you can, it’s possible to receive a reward for your efforts.

Troopers said they are investigating a theft incident that reportedly occurred Aug. 4 (2022; Thursday) at about 3 a.m. at the store. The suspect forced his way into the building and, while there, “stole an (automatic teller machine) and opened a skills game in search of money,” according to the Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers report. “The ATM contained $4,250 at the time of the theft,” it added.

The suspect was wearing a green bucket hat, glasses, blue t-shirt, jean shorts, black sneakers, gloves, and a yellow bandana over his nose and mouth. Employees indicated they may recognize the suspect as a customer who occasionally visits the store and may have ties to Montgomery County.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at the Troop K Barracks in Skippack at 610-410-7840, or anonymously contact Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers. The organization accepts tips toll-free by phone at 1-800-472-8477, or online here.

The amount of the potential reward was not specified. Rewards are distributed when tips lead to an arrest in, help find a fugitive in, or assist in solving the alleged thefts. Information on the incidents, although accurate when released, may later be changed or updated, it noted.
