Limerick Hearing Planned for Manufacturer Expansion

LIMERICK PA – An Indiana company’s plans to build a 6,500-square-foot addition to an existing building at 690 Enterprise Dr. in the Linfield Corporate Center, which require a zoning variance, are scheduled to be a subject of a meeting discussion Wednesday (Aug. 24, 2022) at 6:30 p.m. by the Limerick Township Zoning Hearing Board.

Property owner TerraTec LLC of New Albany IN is looking to enlarge the parcel’s current 18,000-square-foot building on its north side by about a third in size. The property is located within a township office and limited industrial district.

The company needs to obtain a variance from the board for the construction that would allow it to reduce setback requirements by 3 feet near an adjacent residentially zoned district.

Representatives of the company, which does business as Samtech, met April 19 with the township Board of Supervisors to introduce the proposed addition. It manufactures microwave cable products and other components used primarily in military and aerospace applications for clients that include Google, Intel, Apple, Tesla, and SpaceX, they said at the time.

The building is to be used as a research, development, and assembly facility that initially would bring about 50 full-time “white-collar” jobs to the township. An expansion likely would add even more employment, they added.

The meeting, being held in the township municipal building at 646 W. Ridge Pike (at top), is free to attend and open to the public. Any person or party attending the hearing and interested in commenting on the proposal “will be given full opportunity to be heard,” according to a legal advertisement published on the board’s behalf.
