Smiles, Applause in Pottsgrove as Students Return
LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Their smiles Wednesday morning (Aug. 24, 2022) shouted excitement, and maybe some relief in a return to routine, for students coming back to classes in the Pottsgrove School District.

There were smiles at welcomers applauding and waving as students walked down the sidewalk and through building doors.

Smiles and conversation, from both teachers and students, as kids already seemed comfortable to get back into the routine of education.

There were messages of good cheer for the year-to-come, available in new spirit wear.

And probably a joke or two from district Superintendent Dr, David Finnerty. He took the short walk from his office to an entrance at Pottsgrove High, and personally greeted the community’s current and future citizens. Laden with backpacks, they returned for the surprises that accompany another, or the last, year in upper grades.

District buses, maintained during the summer and ready to roll, picked up and delivered their passengers on software-mapped routes. Drivers took extra time during the first day, a social media post explained, to ensure the right students were on the proper buses headed to intended destinations.

Once inside, pupils paraded to their classroom. Those bare walls? They’ll soon be filled with displays of students’ documented accomplsihments.
