Pennypacker Mills Craft Marketplace Opens Sept. 17
SCHWENKSVILLE PA – All tent squares and other spaces made available for vendors at the 11th annual Craft Marketplace at Pennypacker Mills are sold out. That’s good news for visitors to the yearly event, who will be able to choose from an overwhelming selection of verified hand-crafted products perfect for gift-giving.
The marketplace, hosted by the Friends of Pennypacker Mills, will be held Saturday (Sept. 17, 2022) from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pennypacker mansion and grounds, 5 Haldeman Rd. Admission to the historic site, the event, and parking all are free. Food vendors will be available to provide meal items, snacks, and beverages throughout the day. The mansion itself will be open for free public viewing and tours.
Due to the show’s size and its need to serve a large audience, the Friends allow a variety of craft styles and prices at the marketplace. Shoppers return each year for everything from stocking stuffers to elegant jewelry and gifts, and the occasional surprise or rare find. More than 80 crafters are scheduled to sell their wares during the show. Some, but not all, vendors accept credit cards.
The marketplace also boasts of a history of successful growth. When it first opened during 2012, attendance amounted to about 350 shoppers. During 2021, despite problems posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the marketplace attracted more than 1,600 visitors, the organization reported. That number is anticipated to rise again this year.
All proceeds will benefit the Friends organization and its continuing advocacy for the property.
