Pottstown Library Health, Wellness Festival Returns

POTTSTOWN PA – The second annual Health and Wellness Festival hosted by the Pottstown Regional Public Library is scheduled for Saturday (Sept. 17, 2022) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library, 500 E. High St. The event is free to attend and open to the public, and will be held outside the building if the weather allows … or inside if Mother Nature fails to cooperate.

Local organizations that focus on community health and personal wellness will use the showcase to introduce, or reacquaint the public with, their services for the Pottstown community.

Planned participation already includes representatives of Hobart’s Run, Family Services of Montgomery County, Community Health and Dental Care, Maternal and Child Health Coalition, Accíon Comunal Latino Americano de Montgomery County (ACLAMO), Pennsylvania CareerLink, the county Office of Drug and Alcohol, the county Office of Public Health, YWCA Tri-County Area, Be ReZilient, the office of state Rep. Joe Ciresi, the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities, KenCrest, and Health Partners Plans.

The YWCA will also host a bingo game inside the library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to promote its Foster Grandparent program.

The event has been partially funded through a grant from the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation. The foundation’s generosity, the library reported, has also allowed the library to ensure the relevance of its nonfiction health resources collection, including the addition of Spanish-language materials and resources. Those new resources will be on display during the festival.

For more information about the festival, call the library at 610-970-6551 or send it an e-mail to pottstownlibrary@mclinc.org. The library is open Mondays through Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
