Pottsgrove Soccer Filled Richards’ Fields Saturday
LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Players’ smiles were as bright as the daytime sun Saturday (Sept. 10, 2022), as Pottsgrove Soccer Club teams (above and below) filled the fields at Gerald Richards Park for fall season-opening games.
Practice began Aug. 29 for its intramural U8 and U10 teams, and games are scheduled through the end of October, depending on weather conditions. Parents, family members, and others watched the matches from the sidelines, yelling encouragement and occasional advice to those on the fields.
The club’s U6 teams were scheduled to start their season Sunday (Sept. 11), also at Richards, but rain postponed those events and make-up dates were anticipated, its Facebook page reported. The club also offers recreational and travel soccer opportunities for older players.
Founded in 1978, the club said it promotes youth soccer, provides competitive opportunities, and encourages good sportsmanship and fair play for residents of Lower, Upper, and West Pottsgrove townships, the borough of Pottstown, and surrounding communities.
