Local Roads Restricted Next Week for Resurfacing

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Portions of several state highways in western Montgomery and northern Chester counties will be restricted next week for operations to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway across southeastern Pennsylvania, the state Department of Transportation reported.

Milling and paving work in Montgomery County includes:

Sunday through Friday, Sept. 18-23 (2022) from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure scheduled on Whites Mill Road between Route 563 and Swamp Creek Road in Salford and Marlborough townships;
Thursday and Friday, Sept. 22-23 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure scheduled on Fretz Road between Wambold and Yoder roads; on Yoder between Fretz and Clemens roads; on Clemens between Yoder and Ruth roads; and on Ruth Road between Clemens Road and Route 63 in Lower Salford Township; and
Thursday and Friday, Sept. 22-23, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure scheduled on Kinsey Road between Route 113 and Upper Mainland Road; on Upper Mainland between Kinsey and Quarry roads; and on Quarry between Upper Mainland and Old Forty Foot roads in Towamencin and Lower Salford townships.

The work in Chester County consists of:

  • Sunday through Thursday, Sept. 18-22 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure scheduled on Route 100 from Cadmus Road to south of Cedarville Road in North and South Coventry townships, for paving;
  • Wednesday through Wednesday, Sept. 28 to Oct. 12, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a lane closure scheduled on Linfield Road between Longview Road and the Limerick Township line in East Coventry Township, for high-friction surface treatment;
  • Wednesday through Friday, Sept. 28 to Oct. 14, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a lane closure scheduled on Route 29 between Aldham Road and Dickson Drive in Charlestown Township, for high-friction surface treatment;
  • Friday through Tuesday, Sept. 30 to Oct. 18, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a lane closure scheduled on Charlestown Road between Swiss Lane and Pickering Dam Road in Charlestown Township, for high-friction surface treatment; and
  • Friday through Tuesday, Sept. 30 to Oct. 18, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a lane closure scheduled on Route 113 between Wheatland and Church streets in Phoenixville Borough, for high friction surface treatment.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.

In the resurfacing projects, PennDOT is milling existing roadway surfaces and repaving highways with new asphalt to seal them and provide motorists with a smoother ride.
