Crime Stoppers Offers Reward in Tow Truck Theft

SKIPPACK PA – The alleged theft of a tow truck earlier this month, now being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police from the Troop K Barracks in Skippack, has prompted a reward offer by the Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers organization, according to a notice posted Friday (Sept. 16, 2022) on its CrimeWatch website.

Crime Stoppers is willing to pay for information that helps troopers solve the case of a 2007-model red-colored Ford F-450 tow truck (above) which state police reported was stolen Sept. 6 (Tuesday) at about 7 a.m. from a Collegeville Road, Skippack PA, home.

The owner had listed the vehicle for sale only a day earlier, Sept. 5, on Facebook Marketplace, troopers added. The Ford was not registered, and had no affixed registration plate. However, its vehicle identification number is 1FDXF46P77EB23621.

Troopers determined that two suspects entered the private driveway through an open gate. They then opened the vehicle’s unlocked door and started it using an unknown method, because no keys were left inside.

Anyone with information is asked to call Trooper Jonathan G. Loesch at Troop K, 610-584-1250, or anonymously contact Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers. The organization accepts tips toll-free by phone at 1-800-472-8477, or online here.

The amount of the potential reward was not specified. Rewards are distributed when tips lead to an arrest in, help find a fugitive in, or assist in solving the alleged thefts. Information on the incidents, although accurate when released, may later be changed or updated, it noted.
