Steel River Playhouse Ready for Coming Season

POTTSTOWN PA – From murderous plants, to guardian angels, to a new twist on familiar fairy tales, there’s something for all tastes in plays and musicals during next season’s offerings at Steel River Playhouse, 245 E. High St. It’s presenting some favorites, as well as lesser-known shows. It’s also working to attract new sponsorships for the year.

Steel River Playhouse Ready for Coming Season
  • The playhouse doors open Oct. 7-23 with “Little Shop of Horrors,” directed by John D. DiFerdinando;
  • The town of Bedford Falls comes to life on its main stage Dec. 2 with the production of a 1940s radio play of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” directed by Leena Devlin;
  • Join an eccentric family with “Falsettos,” directed by Lisa Hendricks and running Feb. 10-19;
  • “The Laramie Project” and “The Laramie Project 10 Years Later,” directed by Stacey Michaud, run March 10 through April 2;
  • “I and You” directed by Leena Devlin runs April 14-30; and
  • To finish the season, founding Artistic Director Deborah Stimson-Snow returns to Steel River to direct “Into The Woods,” running May 26 through June 11.

Donors and sponsors have helped Steel River Playhouse continue its mission to strengthen community, inspire creative exploration, and educate and entertain by telling stories that matter. They’re just as important this year, and will be recognized Oct. 7 during a dinner at The Blue Elephant restaurant, East High Street.

Sponsorship levels start at $250 and $500. With an opening night sponsorship of $1,000, the sponsor company’s name and logo will be featured in the playhouse lobby, its marketing, and opening night curtain speech. A $2,500 donation can sponsor the full run of a production in its Newberry Loft. Sponsor a main stage production with a $5,000 donation to receive additional recognition and show tickets. With a $20,000 donation, sponsor the full playhouse season.
