Arrest Warrant Issued for Man Wanted on Theft Charges

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Lower Pottsgrove police obtained an arrest warrant Tuesday (Sept. 20, 2022) for a 47-year-old Lancaster PA man who faces several theft-related charges, and failed to appear for a Monday (Sept. 19) preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Justice Edward C. Kropp Sr.

Accused is Omar Ocasio Perez, whom the police department said “broke into a vehicle on the parking lot” of the Planet Fitness franchise at 1400 N. Charlotte St. in the township. Perez allegedly “stole items from the vehicle, and then used credit cards from (a) purse to purchase items for which he was unauthorized,” according to the department’s CrimeWatch website. The date and time of the incident were not reported.

Perez has been charged with eight misdemeanor counts: twice for theft by unlawful taking of movable property, twice for receiving stolen property, and once each for using an access device not authorized by the issuer, possessing an access device that was known to be counterfeit or altered, theft from a motor vehicle, and criminal mischief resulting in property damage.

Anyone who may have information on Perez’s whereabouts is asked to call the police department at 610-326-1508. They also can submit information anonymously online at the department’s “Submit A Tip” webpage, here.
