State Police Report on Sobriety Checkpoint Plans

EMBREEVILLE PA – Pennsylvania State Police said they expect to conduct “at least one sobriety checkpoint” in Chester County sometime between Friday (Sept. 23, 2022) and Sept. 29 (Thursday), according to a report distributed from the Troop J Barracks in Embreeville. Its patrols often cover the county’s northern townships and boroughs.

Troopers said the checkpoint exercises represented an “effort to reduce the number of traffic fatalities and injuries caused by alcohol and drug related crashes.” They also hope to lower “the number of DUI incidents in the Commonwealth,” troopers added.

The barracks’ announcement did not reveal just where will the checkpoints occur, on which day or days, or at what times.
