Learn About Bluebirds, and Build a Nest Box Too
COLLEGEVILLE PA – Conversations of bluebirds are likely to fill the air Dec. 3 (2022; Saturday), as Master Gardeners of Montgomery County conduct a “Bluebird Holiday Workshop” from 9 a.m. to noon at the Penn State Extension offices, 1015 Bridge Rd.
Participants will learn how to build, and get to take home, a cedar bluebird nesting box designed to meet standards of the National Bluebird Society. The workshop also features a presentation about how to attract and support local bluebird populations. The morning will end with a tour of the bluebird trail in the Master Gardener demonstration gardens, and a discussion about strategically siting nest boxes.
The event costs $45 per person and registrations are being accepted online, here, through Nov. 15 (Tuesday). For more information call Dawn Stelts, master gardener coordinator and master watershed steward coordinator, at 610-489-4315; or send her an e-mail to dms7301@psu.edu.
