Food Safety Manager Course Offered in Collegeville

COLLEGEVILLE PA – A ServSafe Food Safety Manager Course, which after testing and qualification could lead to a ServSafe Food Protection Manager certificate, is being offered over two Mondays during December at the Montgomery County Penn State Extension office, 1015 Bridge Rd. Registrations for the course are now being accepted.

The course will be held Dec. 5 (2022; Monday) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and continues Dec. 12 (Monday) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Its exam begins at 1 p.m. on the second day, the office said.

This in-person training, taught by certified ServSafe instructors, will help participants learn how to prevent food contamination by properly receiving, storing, preparing, cooking, cooling, and serving the food. They will also learn proper methods of sanitizing food service facilities. Penn State Extension educators all hold advanced degrees and have received extensive training in food safety.

After completing the course and passing the multiple-choice exam with a score of 70 percent or higher, participants will receive a ServSafe Food Protection Manager certificate good for five years.
