County Names 16 Sites for Campaign Sign Recycling
NORRISTOWN PA – Locations in Gilbertsville, Collegeville, Skippack, and Harleysville are among 16 recycling sites designated this year to accept no-longer-needed election campaign yard signs. They will be available for materials to be dropped off during regular business hours from Wednesday (Nov. 9, 2022) through Nov. 15 (Tuesday), the Montgomery County Recycling Office said.
Because plastic campaign signs and metal stands are not accepted as part of curbside recycling, area residents and election campaign personnel can recycle signs at the interim locations instead of putting them in the trash, the office noted Thursday (Nov. 4). Accepted materials include paperboard and plastic (corrugated and film) yard signs and metal stands
In the county’s western half, signs can be recycled at:
- Collegeville Borough Municipal Building, 491 East Main St., Collegeville;
- Douglass Township Recycling Center, 108 Municipal Drive, Gilbertsville;
- Lower Salford Township Municipal Building, 379 Main Street, Harleysville; and
- Skippack Township Building, 4089 Heckler Road, Skippack.
Other drop-off centers include the:
- Abington Township Highway Yard, 2201 Florey Lane, Abington;
- Cheltenham Township Public Works Facility, 8101 Old York Road, Elkins Park;
- Hatfield Township Building, 1950 School Road, Hatfield;
- Horsham Township Municipal Building, 1025 Horsham Road, Horsham;
- Lower Merion Transfer Station, 1300 North Woodbine Ave., Penn Valley;
- Lower Providence Township Public Works Facility, 500 Church Road, Eagleville;
- Montgomery County Democratic Committee Headquarters, 21 E. Airy St., Norristown (in the parking lot behind the building);
- Montgomery Township Administration Building, 1001 Stump Road, Montgomeryville;
- Upper Dublin Township Library, 520 Virginia Drive, Fort Washington;
- Upper Gwynedd Township Pool Parking Lot, 1 Parkside Place, North Wales ;
- Whitemarsh Township Administration Building, 616 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill; and
- Whitpain Township Administration Building, 960 Wentz Road, Blue Bell.
