Middle School Market Open Monday, Tuesday to ‘Shop’

UPPER POTTSGROVE PA – Students and staff at Pottsgrove Middle School have spent weeks accumulating food and new coats. Now those goods are ready to be privately selected Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 21-22, 2022) by school district families in need.

There’s no cost or obligation required of recipients. They have an open invitation to attend its “Middle School Market,” which operates from noon to 8 p.m. both days (with an hour-long closure from 4:15-5:15 p.m. for dinner), inside the building’s library at 1351 N. Hanover St.

  • The Middle School Market, now more than 10 years old, was featured in a November 2021 article by The Post. Read it here.

Middle School Librarian Shelby Kqira said this “Falcon Community Helpers” event is again open to any family that needs dinner table assistance. Those who visit are welcome to “shop” and pick up free food, a new winter coat, or both. Primary beneficiaries are intended to be Pottsgrove residents.

Because the school is open only for parent-teacher conferences, no classes are being held. All those interested need do is arrive, make their choices, pack them up in available bags and boxes, and serve them as something extra for their Thanksgiving meal or later.
