Truck Driver Injured in Sunnyside Avenue Accident

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – A male pick-up truck driver sustained minor injuries Tuesday (Nov. 22, 2022) at 8:52 a.m. on Sunnyside Avenue near its intersection with Country Drive in Lower Pottsgrove, after his vehicle collided (at top) with a landscaping truck and trailer that was parked at the avenue’s southside curb, township police said.

Officers indicated the driver of the Toyota Tacoma truck, who was not identified by name, age or residence, collided with the rear end of the landscaping trailer as he traveled eastbound and up a hilly curve on Sunnyside.

Workers accompanying the truck, which was facing east, were vacuuming fallen leaves from an adjacent lawn. None of them were injured, but equipment on the trailer incurred damage. Police on the scene did not speculate on how the accident occurred, and at the time were still collecting information for required reports.

They said the Tacoma driver incurred what were described as minor head or neck injuries. He was treated at the scene by Goodwill Ambulance first responders, and then transported to Pottstown Hospital for evaluation. The Tacoma was removed by tow truck. Members of the landscaping crew remained with their vehicle.
