Lower Salford Hosts Electronics Recycling Event

HARLEYSVILLE PA – If you live in Lower Salford and own electronic devices you’d like to be rid of, the township has an offer for you. Responsibly recycle those obsolete items Saturday (Dec. 3, 2022) from 9 a.m. to noon at the municipal building, 379 Main St., during an “Anything With A Plug” event being conducted by Philadelphia-based certified recycler eForce Compliance.

There’s no cost to recycle many items, and some costs to dispose of larger or more complex devices. For either, prospective participants need to reserve a spot in advance online at an Eventbrite page, here. Three specific kinds of devices will not be accepted: smoke detectors, batteries, and large appliances.

Items accepted at no cost include laptops, peripherals, computers, typewriters, computer mice, telephones, small appliances, fax machines, cameras, keyboards, cell phones, printers, and calculators.

Items requiring a fee include dehumidifiers, air conditioners, and microwave ovens, $10 each; flat televisions or computer monitors, $30; and projection or wooden console televisions, $100;

Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted for payment. All computer media data will be destroyed or wiped in the recycling process, the company said.
