Santa No Fan of Phony Money in East Greenville

EAST GREENVILLE PA – This is no way to stay on Santa’s “nice list,” and a sure bet to land on the “naughty” one.

Pennsylvania State Police, according to a report issued Tuesday (Nov. 29, 2022) from its Troop K Barracks, are searching for an individual who they said “used counterfeit $20 and $50 bills” to buy $860 worth of merchandise at the Walmart store, 620 Gravel Pike, in Upper Hanover Township.

The forgery incident is listed as having occurred Nov. 21 (Monday) at 9:35 p.m., but the report’s accompanying information otherwise lacks details. The “individual” is not identified by sex, prospective age, physical build, or apparel. It’s possible the phony money was discovered later, and store employees don’t know who passed those bad bucks but wanted to alert other merchants.

Santa – who, of course, “knows if you’ve been bad or good” – probably could name the offender in an instant, but he apparently has yet to contact the troopers. So they’re asking “anyone with information regarding this incident” to call the barracks in Skippack at 610-584-1250.

Their investigation is continuing, troopers added.
