Reward Offered for Tips Regarding Boyertown Fraud

BOYERTOWN PA – A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of four suspects, wanted by the Eastern Berks Regional Police Department, who allegedly defrauded a Boyertown convenience store. The incident merited this week’s “Crime of the Week” distinction from Crime Alert Berks County, the organization providing the financial incentive.

Police reported two male and two female suspects entered the store, the name and address of which was not mentioned, and “used forged Skill game winner receipts to fraudulently get thousands of dollars from the clerk working the register” there, according to Crime Alert. One of the females, police added, was driving a 2009-model gray Honda Civic.

Anyone with information pertaining to the incident, or which can identify the subjects, is asked to submit an anonymous tip online to Crime Alert Berks County, here, or by calling 1-877-373-9913. “No one will ask your name. You will be assigned a code number to track your tip,” the group’s website stated. Cash rewards are available up to $10,000, it said.

More information also is available from the police department at 610-655-4911, according to the organization.

Crime Alert Berks County, located in Wyomissing, describes itself as a volunteer-operated, registered non-profit organization “dedicated to the prompt solution of crimes.”
