Mini Max Event Honors Three Local Football Players

DREXEL HILL PA – Thanks to their personal and athletic attributes on display in 2022, three area high school football players are among 55 selected to receive honors at the annual Mini-Maxwell Awards presentation to be hosted Feb. 5 (2023) by the Maxwell Football Club at the Drexelbrook Catering and Event Center.

All 55 were nominated by their coaches, and later evaluated on criteria that include football performance, academics, and community service. The final list was released Dec. 19 (Monday). It includes the names of:

  • Daniel Cashman, Owen J. Roberts High School;
  • Carson Pascoe, Perkiomen Valley High School; and
  • Zach Zollers, Spring-Ford High School.

They and the others constitute “another exceptional class of student-athletes who will represent the Mini Max Award very well,” club President Mark Dianno said.

“During their high school careers,” Dianno explained, “they had to contend with circumstances of the pandemic impacting their families, communities, schools, teachers, academics, practices, coaches, and games. Yet they consistently rose to meet those challenges and performed extraordinary feats on the fields, in their classrooms, and in their respective communities. We congratulate and salute this exceptional group of student-athletes.”

The winner of the club’s 37th Jim Henry Award, which recognizes its pick of the region’s most outstanding player, also be announced at the Mini-Max Awards event.
