Phoenixville Rehabilitation Unit Earns National Rank

PHOENIXVILLE PA – The in-patient rehabilitation unit at Phoenixville Hospital has ranked in the top 10 percent nationally among similar facilities for a seventh consecutive year, hospital President and CEO Rich Newell, MPT, DPT, reported Friday (Jan. 20, 2023). Its team effort “clearly demonstrates their ongoing commitment … to improve the health and wellness of those they care for,” he said.

The ranking agency, Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSMR) LLC, based its determination on cases reviewed between October 2021 and September 2022. Its performance indicators measure the delivery of quality patient care judged to be effective, efficient, timely, and patient-centered. It also works with the rehabilitation industry to establish best practices.

Phoenixville’s rehab staff also is committed to continued professional development, according to Rehab Services and Program Director Holly Younker, PT. Its members continue to pursue “specialty certification in the areas of stroke and vestibular rehabilitation, falls prevention, and diabetic education,” she said.
