Boyertown Business Acquires Canadian Consulting Firm
BOYERTOWN PA – ClimeCo LLC, a Boyertown company that provides specialized environmental consulting and commodity services to energy-intensive industries, said Wednesday (Jan. 25, 2023) it acquired Canadian company 3GreenTree Ecosystem Service Ltd. to help it provide clients with sustainable nature management assistance.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
Founded in 2008, 3GreenTree has developed environmental credits from forest carbon removal projects. ClimeCo’s project development team has worked with 3GreenTree on earlier efforts to build carbon models, assess and manage risk, and deliver turn-key projects, it said.
3GreenTree founder and former managing director Clive Welham has been named as ClimeCo’s new vice president of nature-based solutions. He said ClimeCo’s talent and 3GreenTree’s “leading-edge carbon expertise” will work for clients to contribute to “climate change mitigation, water and food security, water pollution abatement, improved human health, biodiversity loss, and reduced disaster risk.”
