Pottstown Student Group Concert Helps the Homeless

POTTSTOWN PA – About 25 teenagers (at top) who collectively represent Pottstown High School and The Hill School are working together under the Pottstown CARES student club umbrella to organize a Feb. 17 (2023; Friday) concert from 7-9 p.m. at Pottstown High, 750 N. Washington St., that will benefit an organization dedicated to helping homeless individuals.
The event, the fifth of its kind, raises funds for “Your Way Home Montgomery County,” an organization that works to help homeless individuals attain permanent housing. Tickets, available now, cost $5 for students and $7 for adults in advance online, or $10 at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. All ages are welcomed to this community event.
Refreshments will be available through the generosity of local businesses and individual donors.
The site also accepts donations for Your Way Home for those who cannot attend the concert but would like to support the students’ efforts and help those in need.
The musical artists, all from the Pottstown area, are donating their time and talents. The lineup will include David Charles, Milen, and Oats Official featuring Denise Jade Jean. “Helping our community does not have to be a difficult task. All it takes are selfless acts and moments of consideration,” the students stated on the ticketing webpage.

Pottstown CARES students again selected Your Way Home due to an established, positive relationship with the organization through previous concerts. CARES, founded through a collaborative Hill-Pottstown initiative in Spring 2013, is an acronym for Community, Awareness, Responsibility, Empowerment, and Sustainability.
Since Fall 2022, current group members participated in the November Hobart’s Run by the River, helped Hobart’s Run to host a holiday party for children at the Ricketts Center, and enjoyed a “speed friending” social event to get to know each other better.
