Troopers Allege an Abundance of Alarms at Retailer
UPPER HANOVER TOWNSHIP PA – Alarm bells tolled too often without justification during the past year at a retail store in a local shopping center, Pennsylvania State Police reported Monday (Feb. 6, 2023).
A patrol unit from the Troop K Barracks in Skippack responded Feb. 3 (Friday) at 8:34 p.m. for what they later described as a “disorderly conduct” incident at the AT&T Store in The Shoppes at Upper Hanover, 622 Gravel Pike. Troopers responded to a burglar alarm at the location, but upon arrival they stated they found “all doors were secure.”
“It was determined to be a false alarm,” their report stated. Apparently, it was only the most recent of several, troopers alleged.
After further investigation, troopers determined “there were a total of 9 false alarms at this location in a consecutive 12-month period.” As a result, they added, “appropriate charges were filed” against those responsible, according to the report.
