Local Representatives Learn Committee Assignments

HARRISBURG PA – Legislative committee assignments for Pennsylvania House of Representatives’ members with constituents in western Montgomery, eastern Berks, and northern Chester counties were announced Friday (March 10, 2023) by the state body’s leadership of both political parties.

Committees are where all bills are initially sent and reviewed. During their discussions, changes can be offered, hearings may be held to gather more information, and decisions are made on whether or not a vote should be taken to move proposals before the full House. Bills can die in committees without advancement; a limited number reach the House floor for consideration.
