Create Your Wagon Wheel Quilt Block at Schwenkfelder

PENNSBURG PA – Learn to create a woolen wagon wheel quilt block during a workshop scheduled for March 25 (2023; Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, 105 Seminary St.

The session is suitable for beginners, and is inspired by a Wagon Wheel quilt in the heritage center collection. Instructors Charlotte Puff and Melissa Weinstein will teach basic embroidery stitches and several ways to finish and use the final block. All materials and drinks will be provided for a fee of $60.

Participants are invited to bring a bag lunch and fabric scissors if you have them. The workshop requires advance registration by Monday (March 20); register online, or by phone at 215-679-3101.

Those who love to sew, or who enjoy quilts, may also want to attend other spring programs at the heritage center. A quilt turning, and a plush embroidery workshop both are planned during April, and the 10th Penn Dry Goods Market antique show and lecture series is set for June 2 and 3.

The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center is the regional history museum for the Upper Perkiomen Valley, and is open Tuesday through Sunday. Admission to visit exhibits or research in the library is free.
