POTTSTOWN PA – Robyn Burckhardt, a Chester County artist who currently is working on a body of paintings of anchorages along the Chesapeake Bay’s Eastern Shore, will be the featured speaker March 21 (2023; Tuesday) at 7 p.m. to the monthly meeting of the Pottstown Area Artists Guild.
The in-person event will be held in the Boyer Gallery of The Hill School Center for the Arts, 766 Beech St.
In discussing the topic, “My Personal Interpretation of Impressionism,” Burckhardt will offer a painting demonstration that shares her techniques “in achieving a mystical, and calming approach to landscapes and water views.” She said she also will share “under painting and priming plus blocking in land forms (and) water.
Burckhardt’s background includes a bachelor of science degree in art education from Kutztown University, and graduate studies at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She also developed a full jewelry and metals program while working at Spring-Ford Area Senior High School in Royersford.
Since her retirement in 2007, Burckhardt said she continues “to work with hand-formed papers in my teaching studio, as well as jewelry classes and workshops at local colleges and art centers. I exhibit regularly in galleries near my home in Chester County.”
