Three local school districts, including Pottstown, found few flaws among their teachers, even though 20 percent or more of students don't meet math or reading standards. That's a problem, PA's education secretary claims.

(With Video.) An Owen J. Roberts High School graduating senior was named Saturday as the second annual winner of a $10,000 scholarship from the Greater Pottstown Foundation.
He and 22 others across Montgomery County, selected from among almost a thousand nominees, were honored for "teaching excellence."
Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges said 71 Montgomery County Community College students, including 23 who live locally, were among its most recent inductees.
More than 50 area residents, including those from Pottstown, Royersford, Limerick and Linfield, were inducted last week into National Honor Society chapters at Montgomery County Community College.
Camp Invention, a recreational summer camp in which kids learn more about science and technology, is coming June 20-23 to Rupert Elementary School. Enrollments are being accepted now.
The Student Philanthropy Council at The Hill School in Pottstown has donated funds to operate this year's healing arts program. It offers free Gallery School art classes to cancer survivors and their families.
May is the "Month of the Young Child," and there were children galore Sunday to prove it, all attending a community event sponsored by Pottstown Early Action for Kindergarten Readiness.
