Homelessness is on the rise across western Montgomery County, and as winter sets in the problems of those without shelter become more acute. An hour-long event Wednesday (Nov. 30) in downtown Pottstown is meant to call attention to their needs.

Remi and Star, a group that specializes in dancing for fitness, showed off its style Wednesday during the Healthy Woman event sponsored by Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Several medical practices in western Montgomery County join others across Pennsylvania in having a high comfort level with prescribing patient medicines electronically, instead of using a pen and prescription pad.
The company, which operates convenience stores in Birdsboro PA and elsewhere across several states, said it believes healthier workers will lowers its health care costs and raise its productivity.

Montgomery County Community College will conduct a free dental sealant program Nov. 19 for children ages 6-14, but space is limited. Reservations are being accepted now.
Family Services of Montgomery County, which operates the Meals On Wheels program and several others from its East High Street, Pottstown, offices, received national recognition this week.
Employees of the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce in Pottstown were among those who powered themselves to work during the spring and summer.
