The need for assistance may never be greater than what some local families face now and in the months ahead, so Lower Pottsgrove's police department has started its Thanksgiving food drive.

A 34-year-old woman who once lived on Beech Street in Pottstown is now considered a "most wanted criminal fugitive" by the Montgomery County Sheriff Department, it said Tuesday.
Lower Pottsgrove police on Sunday had to chase after the same suspect not once but twice in a case of alleged retail theft. They nabbed the man, a Linfield resident, on the second try.
An alleged robber of Redner's Warehouse Market on North Charlotte Street was caught Wednesday night by Lower Pottsgrove police after a brief chase. A store manager was said to have been assaulted.
A "Trump For President" yard sign being displayed in the 500 block of Old Philadelphia Pike in Douglass (Berks) Township was reported as stolen. It was big, too: 4-feet-by-8-feet in size.
The township police department reported the man it claims is a suspect took car keys from an unlocked locker at LA Fitness in Collegeville, and used them to "retrieve" a wallet from a car.
A bridge support wall at the Lock 60 Towpath Park in Mont Clare became a canvas for spray-paint vandals sometime earlier this month, the Upper Providence Police Department reported Monday.
He was arrested Friday afternoon by Lower Pottsgrove police following an investigation. Officers claimed he was found "passed out" in a vehicle, and allegedly in possession of a controlled substance.
