PennDOT's massive $73 million project to replace two bridges, interchange ramps, and conduct other roadwork on U.S. Route 422 roughly between the Sanatoga and Route 724 exits starts tonight and continues through October 2018.
The work will be on westbound-side bridges between Lower Pottsgrove, from the Armand Hammer Boulevard exit, to Upper Providence, at the Trooper Road exit.
Cell phones or other devices that could be held in a vehicle operator's hand while driving would be prohibited under the proposal. However, GPS devices would be allowed.
Hanover Street in Pottstown, between River Road and High Street, will be closed for four days beginning Monday to a rail crossing can be replaced. Be prepared for delays.

The South Hanover Street closure by Norfolk Southern will occur Aug. 13-17.
