BOYERTOWN PA – An expertly prepared, five-course French meal. Each course is paired with its own wine selection. In the background, the soft, lilting strains of a harpist’s musical talent.
That’s the romantic interlude, the luxury of first-class travel in the finest tradition, currently offered by the Colebrookdale Railroad. Tickets are available online now for two special “Cupid’s Arrow” dinner excursions with dining-class seating, limited to those age 16 and older on:
- Saturday (Feb. 11, 2023), leaving Boyertown at 5 p.m. for a three-hour round trip on the Secret Valley Line to Pottstown, and returning by the same route; and
- an identical trip Tuesday (Feb. 14) at 6 p.m.
Guests have their choice of three entrées: a 6-ounce sirloin on a bed of Bordelaise sauce, topped with gouda sage butter and garnished with thyme; Chicken Francese, topped with slow-roasted tomatoes; and a vegan option, a French-style “meatloaf” smothered in a creamy French onion soup reduction.
Each will be accompanied by amuse–bouche, a chef’s selection hors d’œuvre; a Salad Niçoise; brie and ratatouille as an appetizer; house-made Strawberry Sweetheart Crème Brulé for dessert; champagne; and coffee, tea, and water as beverage choices.
