Incumbent Lower Pottsgrove Township commissioners Earl Swavely and Ray Lopez appear to have won re-election Tuesday, in a unusually tight - by local standards - battle against two newcomers.
Trace Slinkerd won re-election to the Upper Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners, and will be joined on the board by his running mates, Don Read and Hank Llewellyn. Incumbent Martin Schrieber lost his bid for re-election; France Krazalkovich also lost.
Only about a third of eligible Montgomery County voters cast ballots on Election Day 2021, according to county Voter Services. Poll watchers cited three causes: rain, cold, and the lack of "a big draw."
The Pottsgrove School District is experimenting with novel ways to reach varied stakeholders. The latest occurred Tuesday, where voters at the polls were invited to complete a short district survey.
A switch of polling places for Lower Pottsgrove Precinct 4 from the township municipal building to Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School seemed easy for voters Tuesday. For many, casting ballots took little time.

Candidate Joe Vecchio, who is running uncontested in the November general election for a seat on the Pottsgrove school board, so far also is the only applicant for the same seat's interim vacancy.
Locations in Pottstown, Royersford, Skippack and Upper Frederick have been named by Montgomery County Voter Services as secure ballot drop-off sites for the Nov. 2 general election. They'll open Oct. 16.
