As part of the Pottstown School District observance of Women In History Month, a library assistant for its Barth and Franklin elementary schools has curated and displayed books on inspiring girls and women.
A Pottstown resident's time, talent, and abundance of yarn has resulted in warmer heads for a class of first-graders at Barth Elementary School. Each received a new hand-made hat for the cold winter ahead.
The annual Peacemaker Awards program at Barth Elementary School recently observed 2019 as its 20th anniversary, with a presentation to two students by the First Presbyterian Church of Pottstown.
Special guest readers, dressed up as several characters in popular literature, visited the classrooms of Barth Elementary School to entertain students during "Read Across America Week."
A woman who volunteers her assistance to the Pottstown School District also found time to hand-knit winter hats for first-graders in a class taught by her daughter.

The Barth Elementary gym will be the setting for a four-week, free summer basketball program geared toward students entering grades 3-6. Registration is under way.
