The borough's Building A Better Boyertown organization hosts its pet-friendly "Dog Days of Summer" Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on North Chestnut Street.
"Building A Better Boyertown" honored them and other volunteers this month with a thank-you luncheon.
Its status marks it as among the premiere downtown advocates and business booster organizations in Pennsylvania. Only 26 programs were accredited this year.
Its fifth annual Oktoberfest celebration enjoyed great weather and terrific attendance, organizers happily reported.
More than 700 people attended the 2011 edition. This year's event has a chance to be even bigger.
