Canyon Atlantic Partners had offered to buy and operate the Brandywine and Jennersville hospitals operated by Tower Health, and sued when it lost that opportunity. It ended its lawsuit Tuesday.
A Chester County Court of Appeals judge ruled Monday that Tower Health's earlier proposed sale of Jennersville and Brandywine hospitals to Canyon Atlantic Partners LLC in Texas must proceed.
Tower Health's agreement to sell two Chester County hospitals, Jennersville and Brandywine, has fallen through because it claimed the intended buyer is unprepared to proceed. Instead, Tower added, they'll be closed.
Brandywine and Jennersville hospitals in Chester County are proposed to be purchased from Tower Health by Canyon Atlantic Healthcare. The prospective owner said they would change from non-profit to for-profit entities.
Two Tower Health Chester County hospitals, Brandywine and Jennersville, will remain open under new ownership. Their sale to Texas-based Canyon Atlantic Partners takes effect Jan. 1, it said.
