Two separate grants from Constellation Energy were delivered Wednesday to Pottstown High School students as they toured the Limerick Generating Station, and learned about its engineering and technology.
Constellation Energy, which owns Limerick Generating Station and five other nuclear power plants in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast, ran them at 99-percent capacity during the summer months, it said.
Sites in Pottstown, Boyertown, and Kimberton are planned for a Sept. 15 local distribution of potassium iodide tablets that would protect the thyroid gland in a nuclear emergency. No appointments are necessary.

Constellation Energy has finished its periodic refueling work for the nuclear reactors at Limerick Generating Station on Sanatoga Road, it said, and also completed an equipment inspection.
