An accident that occurred Friday shortly after 3:30 p.m. required closing a portion of Swamp Pike just east of its intersection with North Charlotte Street.
Fire and rescue, and ambulance service, companies in Gilbertsville have won a grant to help buy for their first responders the same bullet-resistant body armor police routinely wear.
