The parking lot at Pottsgrove Middle School on North Hanover Street is expected to be busy Saturday, as area residents take advantage of an inexpensive way to recycle electronics and also benefit the GreenAllies organization.
Got scrap metal or appliances awaiting disposal? How about no-longer-useful electronic items, or boxes of papers to be shredded? You'll need the GreenAllies recycling event. It's planned for April 2.
In Monday's Fast Three, a Stowe resident earns his Eagle award; Kutztown University is welcoming area students whose names you know, and GreenAllies and Pottstown Hospital digging up fresh food.
Fresh, organically grown produce - five bags filled with it - has been delivered by tireless GreenAllies' student volunteers to the Upper Pottsgrove Police Department for township families in need.
GreenAllies has spent five years working to "empower students to be sustainability leaders." It will celebrate its success Oct. 5 with an annual gala event at Althouse Arboretum in Upper Pottsgrove.
