All across the three elementary schools in the Pottsgrove School District, national Read Across America Week involved dozens of guest readers, pajamas and other unusual wear, and contemplative time for reading everything.
West Pottsgrove, Ringing Rocks, and Lower Pottsgrove elementary schools are hosting fun activities and reading, reading, reading Feb. 27 to March 3 to observe National Read Across America Week.
Two Pottsgrove school building equipment replacements - a generator for the high school and district office, and a sound system at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary - have been authorized at a combined value of more than $321,000.

A Jan. 27 health and wellness fair is being planned by the Parent-Teacher Association at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School. Vendors are being registered now. The event will be free to attend and open to the public.
Election workers at several western Montgomery County locations said they were pleasantly surprised Tuesday by the early arrival and steady volume of voters making their way to polling places.
Melody Dunn, an administrator with experience at two elementary schools and also a professional musician and music educator, has arrived at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School as its new assistant principal.
