Lower Pottsgrove commissioners met Thursday night at The Sunnybrook Ballroom because the Buchert Road municipal building conference room could not be occupied. It and other areas were being repaired.
The estimated cost of building a Lower Pottsgrove municipal campus on East High Street has soared out of reach. The township’s problems with overcrowding remain. Its Infrastructure Committee hopes to hit the “reset button.”
In Lower Pottsgrove, the last government bodies to hold meetings in remote locations due to the pandemic are the township Board of Commissioners and the Planning Commission. Both will return to the Buchert Road municipal building in May.
Lower Pottsgrove, unexpectedly and without explanation, closed its municipal building Wednesday at 11:20 a.m. Messages on its website and Facebook said it would re-open Monday at 8 a.m.
Municipal meetings at which Lower Pottsgrove Township boards will conduct the local government's business have been scheduled for August.
