Sixteen hard-working local students were ranked Wednesday as among the nation's best as semifinalists in this year's National Merit Scholarship competition. They attend classes in seven area schools and at home.
Three students who attend Spring-Ford, Perkiomen Valley, and Methacton high schools, respectively, have been named among this year's finalist winners of National Merit corporate-sponsored scholarships.
Seventeen high school seniors, who collectively attend five schools within The Posts' circulation area, have been named as semifinalists to compete for National Merit Scholarships next spring.
